What is Basalt Fiber?

Basalt fiber is a high-performance inorganic fiber made from natural basalt rock. The raw basalt ore is crushed and melted at about 1500℃, then extruded through fine spinnerets to form continuous filaments. It contains no additives, resins or other harmful substances during production.

Compared with glass fiber and carbon fiber, basalt fiber balances performance and cost well. It features high tensile strength, excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-oxidation and low moisture absorption. It also has good electromagnetic insulation and stable mechanical properties in both low and high temperature environments.

Basalt fiber can be processed into roving, chopped strand, woven fabric, mesh and composite rebar. Widely used in infrastructure construction, transportation, aerospace, friction materials, marine engineering and environmental protection fields. It is a sustainable, eco-friendly reinforcing material.
