Basalt fiber rods are formed by using basalt fiber roving as the main raw material, combined with resins such as epoxy resin, vinyl ester resin and unsaturated polyester, as well as fillers and curing agents and other matrices. Through a special thermoforming mold, the roving bundles that have been impregnated with glue are pultruded under a certain tension.

It has a high tensile strength, being more than three times the strength of ordinary steel bars of the same specification. It also has excellent corrosion resistance (unparalleled by any other fiber material products). The density of the fiber composite bars is only about 1/4 of that of ordinary steel bars, approximately 2.0 g/cm³. The thermal expansion coefficient of the fiber composite bars is similar to that of concrete, and there will be no significant temperature stress between the two. It can be prefabricated into standard bends and other shapes. Environmental friendliness: For every ton of basalt fiber composite bars used, 5.24 tce of carbon emissions can be saved.
